Enjoying the outdoors in NYC - Central Park

When you think about NYC's greenest and most natural site, there is always one place that comes to mind, Central Park. Spanning over 800 acres and centered between Manhattan's Upper East Side and Upper West Side, it's one of the cities most visited sites and one of the world's most visited urban parks indeed. On the picture above, we can appreciate The Pond which is one of seven bodies of water in the park and it is one of the best places to relax, calm your mind and watch some of the many birds and ducks that mingle on any given day.

One of my favorites places in the park that I frequent the most as a musician is the SummerStage. On May 16, 2018 I had the pleasure to see two of my favorite artists on the same stage, Richard Ashcroft and Liam Gallagher. Richard's gig was just him, completely solo with an acoustic guitar which was very natural and cool. He played songs from his solo albums as well as some of The Verve's hits like Lucky Man, Sonnet and The Drugs Don't Work. The main closing act was Liam Gallagher which played songs from his solo project Beady Eye as well as many Oasis songs like Rock N Roll Star, Some Might Say and closing the evening with the anthem Live Forever.

Another interesting site at the park is the The Belvedere Castle that was design in the 19th century fusing two different architectural styles, Gothic and Romanesque. Once you get to the tower's top, you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Great Lawn and The Ramble; you can always take a virtual tour here: https://www.centralparknyc.org/activities/guides/belvedere-castle-experience.
